Hundreds of women's organizations in Europe mark International Day for the Elimination of Violence

Hundreds of women's organizations in European cities took to the streets on Saturday to mark International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, 25 November.

Jin, Jiyan, Azadî became the slogan of all organizations in Europe that took to the streets to mark 25 November, International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

Demonstrations were held in Düsseldorf, Paris and Montpellier on Saturday.

DÜSSELDORF

NRW YJK-E organized the march in Düsseldorf.

Women from different cities of NRW joined the march that started in front of DGB Haus. The Democratic Alevi Women's Union participated in the march with the flag symbolizing Jina Amini's waving hair.

A group of Iranian women joined the march with a banner demanding the release of all political prisoners in Iran.

PARIS

In Paris, 100 women's organizations marched from Republique Square to Nation Square. Kurdish women were at the forefront, together with the Jin Jiyan Azadî Platform. Some 60,000 women shouted "Jin Jiyan Azadî"all the way long.

This year, the march, which was called by the All Nous Toutes Movement and supported by 100 women's organizations, started in Requblique Square.

The Jin Jiyan Azadî Platform, led by the Kurdish Women's Movement TJK-F, was placed at the front of the march.

On Saturday 26 November, there will be a march in support of the resistance in Iran in Paris, led by Jin Jiyan Azadi Platform. Calls were made to ensure huge support for the march.

MONTPELLIER

Thousands of women came together in Montpellier. The action took place in Comedy, the city's most crowded square, led by the Montpellier Democratic Kurdish Council Women's Commune.

During the action, photos of Sakine Cansız, Fidan Doğan and Leyla Şaylemez, who were murdered in Paris in 2013, were carried by activists.
