Families of martyrs form self-defense battalion in Kobanê

The Assembly of Martyrs' Families in Kobanê announced the formation of a self-defense battalion called “Martyr Azad” to protect the gains of the North and East Syrian Revolution.

Assuming responsibility for protecting their lands against the attacks on the North-East Syrian Revolution, members of the Assembly of Martyrs' Families in Kobanê established a self-defense battalion under the name “Martyr Azad”.

Families of martyrs made a press statement on the occasion of the seventh anniversary of the Turkish invasion of Afrin. The statement pointed out that the Turkish state and allied mercenaries that invaded Afrin in 2018 are now carrying out attacks on other regions of North and East Syria for the same purpose.

The families denounced the increasingly ongoing attacks on Qereqozax Bridge and Tishrin Dam, as well as the deadly attacks against civilians who are holding a vigil in Tishrin to support the military forces confronting the attacks.

The Assembly announced that they were taking up the arms of their children to protect the achievements of the North-East Syrian Revolution against the crimes committed by the occupying Turkish state and affiliated mercenaries.
