The European Kurdish Women's Movement published a message on the occasion of the 21 March Newroz Festival.

Noting that 2022 Newroz, which coincides with the 50th anniversary of struggle for the Kurdish people and women, is the Newroz of the time of freedom, the TJK-E said: "Today, the whole world is talking about the ideology of women's liberation created by Leader Apo [Abdullah Öcalan] and is meeting around the paradigm of democratic, women's liberation and ecological life. This is an unstoppable wave of revolution. We called on everyone, especially women, to join the Newroz celebrations to be held in many centers of Europe, especially in Frankfurt, wearing their national clothes and colours, in order to unite around Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan."

The message continued: "We welcome Newroz, the day of awakening, resistance and resurrection of all peoples, the oppressed, and women who have chosen rebellion, rebellion, and resistance as the way of existence against the cruel and dominant powers. From blacksmith Kawa to Mazlum Dogan, from Rahşan to Zekiye, from Berîvan and Ronahî to Sema, this torch of freedom has never been extinguished, being passed from hand to hand, from generation to generation. Today, Newroz has turned into a freedom day that embroidered resistance in history.

On this occasion, as the European Kurdish Women's Movement, we once again commemorate the martyrs of Newroz with love, respect and gratitude; We salute Leader Apo, who created the free women's identity with an epic resistance and effort, to the Kurdish mothers who are veterans of the revolution, to all Kurdish people and women, to the youth and to the resisting Middle Eastern peoples for 2022 Newroz."

The statement added: "Today, the Kurdish people and women are turning every place into a Newroz field with their struggle against fascism, and they are resisting against today's tyrants. Today, women have become the nightmare of all rulers, especially the Turkish fascist regime, and representatives of the capitalist system. They have already shown the whole world that the year 2022 will be a year of resistance.

We welcome Newroz of 2022 in a process where historical developments are experienced and everything becomes clearer. The end of the Third World War in these lands with a victory in favour of the peoples is possible by enlarging the struggle in every field. The fascist AKP-MHP regime has become even more aggressive as it sees its own end in these developments. We have never accepted and will never accept these attacks against Leader Apo, who has been living under the most severe conditions and torture in Imrali for years, and which actually targets the Kurdish genocide. The fascist AKP-MHP regime should know that Kurdish women and the Kurdish people will respond to the fascist regime by increasing their struggle.

We call on all our people, especially women, young people and our friends to unite around Leader Apo and to raise the Newroz fire everywhere. We invite everyone to participate in the Newroz celebrations, which will be held in many cities of Europe, especially in Frankfurt."
