Arab tribes: Terrorist is he who invades the lands of others

Opinion leaders of Arab tribes in Tal Barak responded to Turkey’s attacks on Afrin under the pretext of “fight against terror”, saying “Terrorist is he who invades the lands of others.”

Opinion leaders of Arab tribes in Tal Barak spoke to ANHA news agency about the invasion attacks against Afrin, changing of the region’s demography and efforts to annihilate the Kurdish identity.

Al-Sıwifat tribe opinion leader Selah Şelaş condemned the acts of the Turkish state, saying; “We ever accept Turkey’s attacks against Afrin Canton. We strongly condemn the changing of demographic structure, elimination of Kurdish language and imposition of Arabic and Turkish languages.”

Remarking that the Turkish state targets the co-existence of Arab, Kurdish and Syriac peoples in Afrin, Şelaş said; “AKP government is attacking and invading Syrian lands under the pretext of “fight against terror”. Who brought in terror in the region? Terrorist is he who invades the lands of others and imposes its own laws there. The Turkish state seeks to revive an Ottoman period in Syrian lands, annihilate our identity and Turkify the region.”

Elbu Xetab tribe opinion leader Ehmed Osman El Heloş also protested the Turkish state’s Turkification policies against the people of Afrin, saying; “We all know that the Turkish state wants to invade our region, change the demography and revive an Ottoman era.”

Stressing that Arab and Kurdish people stand with the people of Afrin, El Heloş urged international institutions and organizations to uphold their responsibilities for the people of Afrin.
