Civil society organisations issue call to WHO

16 civil society organizations gathered in Dêrik, in the canton of Qamishlo and agreed on 4-article call to the World Health Organization.

In a joint statement 16 civil society organizations gathered in Dêrik and called on the World Health Organization (WHO) to help the Syrian peoples who are going through a difficult process more, and said: "The coronavirus has spread all over Syria. Further spreading must be urgently contained. There is a shortage of medicines and medical personnel in the region. The Turkish state's invasion attacks make addressing this situation properly more complicated.”

The civil society organizations made the following call to the WHO:

1-Medicines to counter the coronavirus should be sent urgently to the regions registering the highest number of deaths.

2-Health supplies, special clothing and tests should also be sent.

3-Specialist healthcare professionals should be sent and fully furnished pharmacies should be opened.

4- The necessary information about how to be protected from the disease should be conveyed to the citizens living in the camps through special programs.
