The invading Turkish army and its affiliated mercenaries pillaged the Yazidi Şêx Hemit Cemetery in the village of Qestel Cindo, in Shera, province of Afrin. It is stated that the invading mercenaries also cut down the trees around the cemetery.
For the Yazidi community Şêx Hemit Cemetery is a sacred place and is normally visited on holidays and special occasions.
Mercenaries affiliated to the invading Turkish army plundered this cemetery many times in order to find historical artefacts.
A while ago, the invading Turkish state mercenaries occupied the Şêx Berekat Mountain in Derêt Ezê, where the Yazidi' largest cemetery is located, and after stealing the historical artefacts there, they turned the cemetery into an observation point.
