TEV-DEM holds 4th congress in Rimelan

Under the slogan "Democratic Culture Develops through Democratic Institutions", the fourth conference of the Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM) began in the Aram Tigran Center for Culture and Art in the town of Rimelan, in Qamishlo canton.

The 4th conference of the Democratic Society Movement is attended by about 400 members, in addition to representatives of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, the councils of martyrs' families in the Jazira region, political parties, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the Arab-Kurdish Tribal Council, women's and youth organizations, and civil society organizations.

The conference program includes several speeches, including by the Democratic Society Movement, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, the Council of Martyrs' Families in the Jazira region, the Kongra Star - Rojava, and a speech on behalf of the Syrian Democratic Forces.

The conference program includes reading the assessments of Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan on democratic society, in addition to the organizational report of the movement during the past 3 years, discussing and voting on the movement’s internal system, and then electing the co-presidency of the Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM), electing the movement’s general council, and issuing final statement of the conference.

The third conference of the Democratic Society Movement was held under the slogan "With a free organized society, we guarantee victory", on August 27, 2018, in the town of Rimelan in Qamishlo canton, and was concluded with the election of a 64-member council.
