SDF arrests an ISIS leader in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor

The local ISIS leader arrested by SDF was responsible for transporting ISIS cell members, especially the suicide bombers, and supplying them with the weapons and equipment needed for committing terrorist acts.

The Special Units of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), backed by the International Coalition forces, have conducted a joint security operation in al-Daman village, near al-Busayrah town, in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

SDF Press Centre reported that the operation targeted a local ISIS leader who was responsible for transporting ISIS cell members, especially the suicide bombers, and supplying them with the weapons and equipment needed for committing terrorist acts in the countryside of al-Hasaka and Deir ez-Zor and other areas in North-East Syria.

Based on precise intelligence information, SDF forces raided the house of the terrorist and arrested him.

“By searching the house, our forces uncovered a weapons and IEDs cache, where machine guns, magazines and military uniforms were confiscated,” the SDF statement said.
