Russian major general killed, 2 soldiers wounded in Deir ez-Zor
A major-general of Russia died in a blast in Deir ez-Zor while two other soldiers were wounded.
Russian Ministry of Defense stated that an IED detonated next to a Russian military vehicle near Deir ez-Zor, Syria on Tuesday.
According to the ministry, the Russian military convoy was returning from an aid delivery mission to a settlement near Deir ez-Zor. It was hit by an IED in an area 15 km from Deir ez-Zor, as a result of which three Russian soldiers were injured. A major general serving as military counsel succumbed to his critical injuries.
