The Democratic Union Party (PYD) issued a statement about the killing of its member, Hogir Erebo, as a result of an airstrike carried out by the Turkish state in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq) on 27 January.
The PYD expressed its condolences to the martyr's family and the people of the region and condemned the inhumane attack by the Turkish state.
The statement said: "Hogir Erebo came from a patriotic family. He was raised in a family with a national and self-sacrificing spirit. Our comrade Hogir fought in our party's youth organization. He had a revolutionary spirit and struggle. He devoted all his time and resources to strengthening the organization and cause of his people."
The statement continued: "In addition to these services, it was shared that Hogir Erebo defended his people against the attacks by ISIS and the occupying Turkish state on the region and that he was injured and taken to hospitals in South Kurdistan for treatment.
The PYD emphasized that they will follow in the footsteps of the martyrs until they ensure the freedom of the people and establish a democratic and decentralized system in Syria."
