People protest against the KDP in Qamishlo

People in Qamishlo protested against the policies of the KDP and its aggression against guerrilla forces in South Kurdistan (Bashur).

Hundreds of people in Qamishlo took to the streets to protest against the KDP's attitude towards the Kurdish issue, its activities against the guerrilla forces in South Kurdistan, and the agreement it signed with the Baghdad government targeting Shengal.

The demonstrators gathered in front of the March 12 Stadium in Qamishlo and marched with the slogans "No to betrayal" and "Long live Shengal resistance".

The crowd marching through the streets stopped in front of the office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. Speaking here, PYD Qamishlo branch co-chair Mesut Dawud said, “At a time when the Kurdish people are awaiting unity and are getting closer to gaining their rights, the KDP attack guerrilla forces in South Kurdistan's Amadiya and Duhok cities. This attack reveals the KDP's betrayal of the Kurds and its support for the Turkish state. The Kurdish people should take a tougher stance against the KDP's conspiracies in Bashur. All Kurds in Kurdistan and the world should condemn the betrayal of the KDP and resist to ensure Kurdish unity."

The march ended with slogans.
