Nine women abducted in Syria in 15 days

SOHR has reported that at least nine women have been kidnapped or disappeared in Syria over the past 15 days.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), between 1 and 15 February, at least nine women were abducted in different regions across Syria.

The observatory shared the following details regarding the incidents compiled:

1 February: A young woman was kidnapped while traveling to the city from the rural area of Jableh in Latakia. On the same day, another young woman was abducted in the Safitaya region.

2 February: A university student from Damascus University was kidnapped in the rural area of Jaramana, Damascus.

3 February: A young girl disappeared in the countryside of Homs, while another young woman was abducted from Nayrab Camp in Aleppo on the same day.

4 February: A woman went missing in Jeboreen village in Homs.

8 February: A young woman in Homs disappeared under unknown circumstances.

13 February: A Damascus University student was kidnapped while on her way to Miwasat Hospital.

15 February: A Palestinian student was abducted while attempting to register for the ninth grade. Her family later reported that the kidnappers demanded a ransom.

SOHR further stated that the whereabouts and fate of the abducted and missing women remain unknown.
