Joint patrol in Dirbêsiyê

The 38th joint patrol of Russian and Turkish troops has been carried out in the northeast of Syria. The patrols are part of an agreement between Ankara and Moscow concluded after the invasion of Serêkaniyê.

Russia and Turkey have conducted a joint patrol in Dirbêsiyê in northeastern Syria. Five armored cars of the Russian army and four vehicles of the Turkish occupation forces were accompanied on the drive by two Russian military helicopters. This is the 38th inspection tour by now.

Today's tour started again in the village of Şêrik about thirteen kilometers west of Dirbêsiyê and passed through several villages. The Turkish military then returned to Turkey via Şêrik, while the Russian column retreated to its base in Qamişlo.

The joint patrols are part of an agreement between Turkey and Russia that was concluded after the Turkish invasion last October. The first drive had taken place on November 1, 2019.
