Internal Security Forces say two people killed in Dêrik

The Internal Security Forces of Northern and Eastern Syria said that two people fell as martyrs in the attacks carried out by the Turkish state in Dêrik.

The Press Office of the Internal Security Forces of Northern and Eastern Syria issued a statement confirming that two people fell as martyrs in the attacks carried out by the Turkish state.

In the statement, the Internal Security Forces wrote about the Turkish attacks on Qereçoxê Mountain, and the villages of Şirik and Teqil Beqîl. The statement added that a drone targeted a civilian vehicle in the village of Xanê Seri in Dêrik.

The statement said: "The occupying Turkish army has been targeting the regions of Northern and Eastern Syria for an extended period using aircraft, heavy artillery, and affiliated militias. Currently, they are advancing toward the Tishrin Dam and Qerekozak Bridge, aiming to expand their territorial control. The Turkish state aims to displace the local population, change the demographic structure of the region, and expand its occupation within Syrian territories."

The statement added: "On 10 January, the Turkish state bombed Koçerat, Qereçoxê Mountain, and the villages of Teqil Beqîl, and Şirik. In addition, a civilian Hyundai Veracruz vehicle was targeted by a drone in the village of Xanê Seri.

As a result of the attack, two people were killed. Another citizen in proximity to the attack site was injured in the leg and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

At a time when all sides involved in the Syrian conflict are seeking solutions that could gain consensus among all Syrian communities, we see the occupying Turkish state interfering externally, undermining international efforts, and attempting to occupy and exert control over Syria."
