Internal Security Forces announce the outcome of the Security Campaign in Deir ez-Zor countryside

The announcement was made in a statement delivered on Tuesday by Major General Ali Hassan, a member of the General Command of the Internal Security Forces in northern and eastern Syria. Major General Hassan explained that the campaign was carried out with the participation of all Internal Security Forces departments, alongside the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), to target the remnants of the defunct regime and its mercenary factions. He noted that 15 days have passed since the campaign began, and it remains ongoing.

Hassan emphasized that the campaign aims to restore security, maintain stability, and eliminate the threat posed by the remnants of the defunct regime, in addition to targeting ISIS terrorist cells. He confirmed that their forces have successfully captured 79 mercenaries involved in disrupting security, inciting chaos, and endangering civil peace. Additionally, security forces seized significant quantities of weapons, ammunition, and communication equipment from the detained mercenaries.

The statement highlighted that this campaign was launched in response to the appeals of local residents, who reject all forms of violence and terrorism and remain committed to coexistence and the preservation of the region’s social fabric.

“Based on our duty to ensure security and stability, we initiated this campaign, which will continue until all threats to peace and coexistence are neutralized. Our goal is to safeguard the achievements for which our martyrs sacrificed their lives,” the statement added.

The statement concluded with a reaffirmation from the Internal Security Forces and the Syrian Democratic Forces, underscoring their commitment to defending the region, ensuring stability, and upholding the dignity of its people.

During the campaign, the Internal Security Forces confiscated the following weapons and military equipment from the captured mercenaries:
