The SDF Press Center said in a statement: "The occupying Turkish army and mercenaries continue their efforts to invade the region. Our fighters have dealt heavy blows to the invaders and dozens of invading Turkish soldiers and mercenaries have been killed."

The SDF statement added: "Our fighters are carrying out a historic resistance against the invaders and have dealt the enemy heavy blows.

We reiterate that we will follow on the path of our martyrs who sacrificed and fought for the protection of our lands."
