HRE fighter Brûsk Meydana martyred in Afrin

HRE fighter Brûsk Meydana fell as a martyr in Afrin.

The Afrin Liberation Forces (HRE) announced the death of Brûsk Meydana. According to the HRE statement on Thursday, the Kurdish fighter was martyred in the Afrin region on 23 July. His real name was Xalid Şêx Dada and he was born in Afrin. His family is known for its connection to the Kurdish liberation struggle and Brûsk Meydana was socialised in a corresponding environment, stated the HRE. With the start of the revolution in Rojava, he became increasingly involved with the ideas of Abdullah Öcalan. In view of the attacks on the Kurdish people, which he witnessed first-hand, he felt responsible as a young Kurd and joined the revolutionary struggle. In 2016, he took part in the liberation offensive in Shehba and fought against ISIS. In 2018, he was part of the resistance against the Turkish invasion in Afrin.

HRE honoured Brûsk Meydana as “a revolutionary fighter who not only fulfilled his duty during the war, but also supported his comrades-in-arms in everyday life with sincere warmth and selflessness.”

Comrade Brûsk has left us a great legacy with his life and his struggle, stated the HRE and vowed that his fight will continue with great determination.
