Hesen: Turkey 'main supporter' of the ISIS cells in NE Syria

“These cells receive direct support from the Turkish state and their objective is to revive ISIS and to instigate the peoples of North-East Syria against each other,” said the Spokesman of the North-East Syrian Internal Security Forces.

Speaking to ANHA (Hawar News Agency), Spokesman of the North-East Syrian Internal Security Forces, Ali Hesen pointed to the attempts of the sleeper cells in the region to set peoples against one other, saying; “After the ending of the classic conflict in the region, some states and circles resorted to special war methods targeting the society. In this scope, drug and spying activities have been conducted. As Internal Security Forces, we have carried out operations and captured 933 drug dealers who were then brought to justice.”

Commenting on the increasing cases of assassinations in North-East Syria and those behind these actions, Hesen said the following: “Especially members of the sleeper cells that have been smashed in Deir ez-Zor region tried to target the notables, opinion leaders, civilians, women and children in particular. These cells receive direct support from the Turkish state and their objective is to revive ISIS and to instigate the peoples of North-East Syria against each other.”

Ali Hesen emphasized that the Internal Security Forces will continue their works for the peace of the people.
