With the completion of the second stage of water distribution works in Hesekê, drinking water started to be supplied to the neighborhoods in the city from Ezîziyê Station.
After the problems encountered with the Xebûr Canal project, which draws water from the Euphrates River to Hesekê, were resolved, water was successfully supplied.
Hesekê Water Administration said that on 8 July, water pumping from the Euphrates River to Hesekê was stopped due to problems in 78 different places on the pump lines where water was given for trial purposes.
Mihemed El Dexîl, co-chair of the Executive Council of Deir ez-Zor Canton Democratic Autonomous Administration told ANHA that the Euphrates water would reach the city of Hesekê within 48 hours.
Making a statement on its official website on 1 July, the Democratic Autonomous Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria announced that water stations were put into service and water started to be supplied from the Euphrates River to the Xebur irrigation canal, and that the second phase of work to carry water to Hesekê had begun.
