Baghouz Water Station comes into service

The water station repaired by the People's Municipality of Baghouz town in Deir ez-Zor, is expected to be put into service in 25 days.

The Baghouz People's Municipality Service Committee started the repair of the water station in the town with the help of the Deir ez-Zor Civil Council Committee for Municipalities and Local Administrations. The station in the east of Deir ez-Zor is one of the important water stations in the region, as it provides drinking water to approximately 45 thousand people. Days are left for the station rendered unusable by ISIS gangs to be put into service again.

The station, where a treatment facility is also located, can supply 160 cubic meters of drinking water per minute by pumping with generators. The water network connected to the station is 15 kilometers long.

The Deir ez-Zor Civil Council Committee for Municipalities and Local Administrations built another small water station for emergencies in Baghouz. This station has the capacity to provide drinking water to 15 thousand people and can supply water to 9 neighborhoods of the town.

Mohammed Taime, one of the Baghouz People's Municipality officials, said that the repair work of the station is going on and it may take approximately 25 days to complete the work.
