Autonomous Administration: We will protect our people

"The attacks of the Turkish state will cause destruction and a humanitarian crisis in the region. The whole world will be responsible for this," warned the autonomous administration.

The Autonomous Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria said they would protect the people of the region against all attacks.

The statement said: "We call on all political parties and civil society organizations to gather at the border at Girê Spî and Serêkaniyê and stand by the security forces."

The North and East Syrian Autonomous Administration held a press conference on the threats of occupation of the region issued by the Turkish state.

The press conference was held in Ayn Issa and saw the the participation of the representatives of the Autonomous Administration. The statement was read by the co-chair of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration Ebid Hamid Al-Mihbaş.

Reminding that the peoples of the region have been resisting for years to protect the unity and security of Syria, the statement said: "We gave 11 thousand martyrs in the struggle for revolution. This process in which ISIS has been defeated, especially in the military field, is a sensitive and very important process. The invasion threats that the Turkish state has issued have no justification and have actually now become a major obstacle to peace and security in Syria."

In an effort to keep the region away from a possible war, the statement emphasized that all the conditions of the border security mechanism reached with the US have been fulfilled.

"Turkey's threats and possible attacks are very dangerous. - said the statement - These possible attacks which will have major negative consequences in the region and internationally and will send Syria back to the first dates of the crisis. In addition, other radical terrorist groups, especially ISIS, will turn the Turkish state's attacks and the turmoil in the region into an opportunity and will begin to reorganize themselves. This is a threat not only to the region but the whole world."

The Autonomous Administration, added the statement "made great sacrifices to serve humanity and, with the support of the International Coalition, limited the threat of terrorism. The agreement between Erdogan and the White House does not serve the region. As the Autonomous Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria, we call on the people in the region and abroad to take action to prevent these unjustified attacks. We also call on all political parties and civil society organizations to gather at the border in Girê Spî and Serêkaniyê."

The Autonomous Administration reiterated that it will continue to be committed to the "search of dialogue to reach negotiated solutions. We once again state that it is for the unity of Syria and society. We will protect our people against all kinds of attacks.

All parties involved, namely Russia, the Syrian regime, the International Coalition, the EU and the United Nations, all active forces in Syria, Erdogan, the Syrian Constitutional Committee, which gives moral support to the threat of invasion of the autonomous government representatives after the decisions taken by the Turkish state should expect a clear attitude.
