Autonomous Administration: Russia should play more active role

The Department of Foreign Relations of the Autonomous Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria said that the Turkish attacks continued despite the agreements with Russia and urged Russia to actively play the role of guarantor.

The Department of Foreign Relations of the Autonomous Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria responded in writing to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov said on Tuesday that the Autonomous Administration is not "serious" about dialogue.

The statement said: "The Turkish state has been continuing its attacks on the North and East Syria since 9 October and does not comply with the requirements of the ceasefire reached with the USA on 17 October and with Russia on 22 October".

Ceasefire repeatedly violated

The statement recalled that the ceasefire has been constantly violated resulting in attacks to Til Temir, Eyn Isa and the M-4 road and causing the displacement of over 350,000 people, the killing and wounding of hundreds of civilians and the change in the demography of the region."

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, said the statement, has "declared that the Autonomous Administration is not serious about dialogue. The Autonomous Administration of northern and eastern Syria has shown its readiness to dialoge and has made and continue to make all efforts to ensure the beginning of serious and inclusive dialogue."

SDF respected ceasefire

The statement recalled that "the Democratic Forces of Syria respected the ceasefire and withdrawn from all border areas while the Autonomous Administration continues its activities within this scope. Together with this, it has ratified the joint military police patrol between Russia and Turkey, while at the same time emphasizing the need for a national dialogue in Syria in search of a solution."

Russia should play a more active role

According to this picture, said the statement "Russia should play its role in a more active way. Because the practical reality of the agreement is not appropriate. On this basis, we state that we, as the Department of Foreign Relations of the Autonomous Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria, have taken all measures and are ready for the development of the dialogue with Damascus and emphasize that we will always work within the framework of a Syrian solution.

The steps we have taken by engaging in dialogue with Damascus are important and positive. However, we reiterate our call for more active role of Russia's guarantor role, as the Damascus side does not fully clarify whether it wants political dialogue."

Autonomous Administration ready for dialogue

The statement said: "We are in favor of peace, and we want Turkey to stop the attack. As we have mentioned before, we reiterate that we have not backtracked and we are open to dialogue. We also underline that we have no agreement on the US presence and change of position in the region."

Need for a committee

The Autonomous Administration said that "A committee should be established to investigate the attacks carried out by Turkey in Syria."
