Autonomous Administration: Hesekê operation is second milestone in resistance against ISIS

The Autonomous Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria said in a statement regarding the SDF operation in Hesekê that "this victory is the second historical milestone for our people in raising the resistance against ISIS."

The Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous Administration issued a statement about the SDF's successful operation in Hesekê. Stating that the victory in Hesekê is the second historical milestone for the people of the region in raising the resistance against ISIS, the statement said: "As the Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous Administration, we respectfully commemorate all our martyrs who sacrificed their lives in this operation."

The statement added that the aim of the attack was to occupy new lands and destroy the Autonomous Administration of North-East Syria. “The mercenaries carried out their attack on 20 January, the day the Autonomous Administration was established. This confirms that this was an attack against the will of the people of the region. But the attack was defeated thanks to the children of these lands.”

The Autonomous Administration said that they celebrated two successes at the same time, the anniversary of the liberation of Kobanê and the victory of our people in Hesekê. “We congratulate our people once again for these great achievements. This victory is the second historical milestone for our people in raising the resistance against ISIS, which suffered a major defeat in Kobanê in 2015. The strategy carried out by the Turkish state through ISIS was defeated once again, this time in Hesekê.

On this occasion, we once again greet all peoples and congratulate the SDF, YPJ, HPC and Internal Security Forces who achieved this success with determination.

We call on our people to be vigilant in defending their lands and to support the security forces against any attack on their gains.”
