14-day lockdown in Raqqa

The lockdown in Raqqa comes after the Health Committee of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria announced an increasing number of Covid-10 infections in the region.

The Democratic Civil Administration of Raqqa issued a circular announcing the start of a 14-day quarantine on the area as a precaution to prevent the outbreak of the Corona epidemic.

The Civil Administration said in the circular issued today in this regard: "In line with the requirements of the public interest, in the interest for the safety of all our people, and based on the decision of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria No. 86 issued on 29/07/2020, the following is circulated:

A lockdown will be applied in all areas of Raqqa Civil Council for a period of 14 days, starting from the date of this circular.

All entrances and exits of the administrative borders of Raqqa Civil Council and the entrances and exits of the city are closed, except for emergency cases and commercial movement after taking the necessary preventive measures.

The institutions of Raqqa Council remain on the top of their job, while strengthening medical centers in the countryside.

There will be an obstruction of gatherings of all kinds and forms; cafes, swimming pools, group prayers, weddings, condolence tents, and others.

It is worth mentioning that this circular came after the Health Committee of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria announced yesterday that 3 cases of Coronavirus were detected in Raqqa, in addition to 3 cases in Deir ez-Zor and 11 new cases in al-Jazeera, bringing the number of confirmed cases in northern and eastern Syria until now to 25.
