TKP/ML-TİKKO Commander Ozanyan laid to rest in Derîk

Armenian revolutionary TKP/ML-TİKKO Commander Orhan Bakırcıyan (Nubar Ozanyan) has been laid to rest in Derîk, Rojava.

TKP/ML–TİKKO (Communist Party of Turkey/Marxist-Leninist - Liberation Army of the Workers and Peasants of Turkey) Rojava Commander Nubar Ozanyan had fallen a martyr in Serêkaniyê on 14 August.

Thousands from Derîk city of Rojava gathered in front of Derîk Hospital to accompany the Armenian revolutionary in his final journey to Martyr Xebat Dêrik Cemetery of Martyrs, carrying images of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan and flags of TİKKO, and chanting “Şehîd Namirin” [Martyrs are Immortal].

Following a military ceremony by YPG-YPJ and Self-Defense Forces, TİKKO commander Cemil Rojava held a speech and stated that family of Martyr Nubar, who fought for humanity against fascism, had survived the Armenian Genocide of 1915.

Cemil Rojava recalled that Martyr Nubar had taken an active place in Armenian, Palestine and Rojava revolutions, and vowed that they would be following Martyr Nubar’s cause for the oppressed peoples.

Speeches held after the TİKKO commander also emphasised the promise to keep the struggle going for humanity and freedom of peoples.

Following the ceremony, the Armenian revolutionary was laid to rest.
