Kurdish parties issue statement on Turkey’s invasion attacks

Kurdish political parties in Northern and Eastern Syria issued a statement on the Turkish state’s attacks against Southern Kurdistan. The statement said Turkish state serves radical forces with their attacks.

Representatives from Kurdish political parties in Northern and Eastern Syria held a meeting in Qamishlo yesterday and issued a joint statement on the Turkish state’s invasion attacks against Southern Kurdistan afterwards.

The statement included the following:

“The message of democratic solution to the Syrian crisis by Reber Ocalan was received well by the public in Turkey but the Turkish state continued to attack Southern Kurdistan, using various weapons and technologies at the same time.

The Turkish state continues to attack Kurdish residential areas violently. Dozens of civilians were martyred and injured in the attacks. Civilians’ property has also suffered material damages due to the attacks.

It can be seen clearly that Turkey has declared war against the fighters battling terrorism in Kirkuk, Maxmur, Shengal and Kobane. The Turkish state has attacked its neighbor Iraq, violating international law and several treaties, and it is clear that their true goal is to destroy the gains made in 30 years in Southern Kurdistan.

The AKP government’s attacks against the Kurdish people, their gains and Southern Kurdistan itself shows that they want to repeat what happened in Afrin.

As representatives of Kurdish parties in Northern and Eastern Syria, we condemn Turkish state attacks and call on Kurdistani parties and powers to do the same. We are calling on the Iraqi government and the Kurdistan Regional government to stop these attacks and take necessary political precautions. On this basis, we are calling on the international public to protest the Turkish state attacks and to take action for the peaceful resolution of issues.

We are warning the Turkish state that they are aiding radical forces with these attacks and disrupting the peace and security in the region and throughout the world.”
