YPS-Jin and Revenge Unit claim responsibility for actions

The militant women's group YPS-Jin and a "Revenge Unit" have claimed responsibility for actions targeting buildings of AKP supporters in western Turkey and on the police in Amed.

Militant groups have claimed responsibility for several actions in Turkey. The YPS-Jin announced in a written statement on Saturday that "effective actions against colonialism and collaboration" have been carried out in Muğla, Istanbul and Denizli to mark the death anniversary of the legendary guerrilla fighter Zeynep Kinaci (Zîlan).

According to the statement, two villas of AKP supporters in the Istanbul district of Sariyer were partially destroyed on June 22. On 25 June, a timber plant of a "fascist and AKP supporter" in Muğla was burned down. On June 21, a building of the "AKP collaborator Ahmet Kocaman" in Denizli was burned down.

The "YPS-Jin revenge unit Şehid Zîlan" said: "The Kurdish women are in the front line of the struggle for existence and have become a nightmare of the fascist Turkish state. For this reason fighting women are attacked. Three revolutionary women have been killed in Kobanê recently. We will not keep silent about the Turkish attacks on the women's struggle. We are in a position of active self-defense. As YPS-Jin women's defense units, we will demand account for every attack on women."

Security forces hit in Amed

The "revenge unit Şehîd Elişer Konya and Şehîd Savaş Amed" today claimed responsibility for attacks on police officers in Amed (Diyarbakir). Their statement said: "Freedom does not mean to get desensitized and to follow the dirty agenda of the enemy. Freedom means to search for oneself and to dedicate oneself to social values according to ethical standards. It means to reveal the courage for action every time we take a breath in the face of degenerating, discriminatory and derogatory state policies, and to fill it with the ideology of the Leader. The last fortress is always the will of an individual. As militants who have dedicated our will to Rêber Apo (Leader Abdullah Öcalan) and the PKK paradigm, we will fight until we have razed the fascist strongholds in the Turkish metropolises to the ground and until we can live with a free leader in a free Kurdistan.”

According to the statement, the group targeted a police station in the town of Sur with explosives and firearms on June 26. The number of dead or injured policemen couldn’t be clarified.

On the same day, the revenge unit targeted the policeman and guards that occupied the Sur Municipality. One policeman and one guard were injured here.

The group said that their actions were dedicated to HBDH (Peoples’ United Revolutionary Movement) fighter Sinan Güneş who fell a martyr in Kağızman district of Kars.
