Kurdish politician Sibel Yiğitalp said that the safe construction of the future of the people of Turkey will be possible with the freedom of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
Speaking to ANF, the former HDP MP said that ending the isolation of the Kurdish People's Leader is mandatory for the welfare of the people of Turkey, the Kurdish people's demand for status, and their future in security. Yiğitalp added: "The isolation imposed on Mr. Öcalan reflects on society as a war. Maintaining isolation means insisting on this war. The Kurdish people accepted Mr. Öcalan as the chief negotiator and sent millions of signatures to the Turkish Parliament. The Kurdish people very clearly demonstrated their will again in the Newroz areas and the 8 March celebrations."
There are those who feed from war
Arguing that those who feed on war have created themselves by alienating the people of Turkey and turning them into enemies against each other, as well as putting the people of Turkey into economic crisis, Yiğitalp continued: "The Turkish nation-state is trying to re-create itself through a single ethnicity, belief and gender. It is no longer possible to carry out the process this way. It is a process that leads people to complete poverty and division within themselves. In order for the violence to end and a peaceful environment to be established, the isolation imposed on Mr. Öcalan must be lifted, and he must regain his physical freedom."
We need to get out of the spiral of violence
Pointing out that the prisoners are protesting the isolation system, Yiğitalap said: "Prisoners are trying to make the isolation of Mr. Öcalan visible by not making phone calls to their families and by boycotting the courts. The only way for the people of Turkey and the Middle East to get out of this spiral of violence is to lift the isolation conditions on Mr. Öcalan, ensure his freedom, and start the negotiation process as soon as possible."
