HBDH carries out action in support of prisoners on hunger strike

HBDH Militia carried out an action to draw attention to the hunger strike in prisons by closing a highway in the direction of Istanbul Beykoz-Ümraniye on 4 February at 11.45 pm.

The Peoples' United Revolution Movement (HBDH) militias said in a written statement that they carried out the action “on 4 February at 11. 45 pm. A highway on the Istanbul Beykoz-Ümraniye was closed to traffic by the action of our HBDH militias.”

Thousands of prisoners in prisons have been on hunger strike since 27 November 2020, reminded the statement, adding that “they are resisting by putting their lives at risk to break the isolation imposed on all prisoners, and especially in Imrali. The fascist Erdogan government is trying to survive with isolation in prisons and fascist terror in the streets. The prisoners’ demands are also the demands of those outside. Prisoners are also resisting for the people outside. Their resistance must be supported. As the HBDH Militia, we declare that we will continue to attack fascism."
