Sulaymaniyah Governor calls for unity among Kurds

Sulaymaniyah Governor Haval Abubakir called for unity among the Kurdish parties.

Speaking to the ANF, Sulaymaniyah Governor Haval Abubakir said that Kurds should take a united stance on international issues.

"Our desire for Turkey, our hope and wishes are for a solution not based on war and weapons. We are in favour of establishing and maintaining peace and tranquillity in the region,” said Abubakir adding that “it is everyone's duty to ensure peace and tranquillity in the region.”

Drawing attention to the need for unity to solve the internal problems of the Kurds, Abubakir said: “The people of Shengal, Kirkuk, Sediye, Celawla and Xaneqin in particular should be the main issue at the heart in domestic affairs. Our job should be concentrated in the search for a solution for all areas. Our common goals should be defended by all parties."

Calling all Kurdish parties for unity, Governor Abubakir said: “All political parties should be united. Our weapons should not be used against each other, they should stand behind each other as strong as a fortress and should be a shield against any attack on Kurdistan. At the same time, all parties should take a united position on international affairs. Again, in terms of world peace, regional states should be equally close to each other. We must work for a solution through dialogue, mutual understanding and democracy."
