UEFA to look into racist military salute by Turkish players

Following the victory over the Albanian team, Turkish national team players hailed the racist occupation attacks against the Kurds with a military salute. UEFA is examining this racist salute.

An official of the European Football Federation (UEFA) said that they are examining the military salute made by Turkish national team players after the match with Albania. The Turkish players were thus celebrating the occupation of Northern and Eastern Syria.

"Personally, I have not seen this gesture, which could be considered a provocation," UEFA's media head Philip Townsend told news agencies.

"Does the regulation prohibit references to politics and religion? - he added - Yes, and I can guarantee you that we will look at this situation".
