Two more journalists killed in Mosul

It has been reported that two Iraqi journalists covering the war against ISIS were killed in an attack in South Mosul which has been largely cleared of ISIS gangs.

The statement aired on the TV channel Huna Salahaddin said that two of their employees have lost their lives within this week in the village Imam Garbi following attacks by ISIS.

The statement identified the killed journalists as a staff member of the TV station named Harm Hazza El Duleymi and cameraman Sudad El Duri.

While the exact date of the journalists' death has not been disclosed, it was reported that ISIS gangs attacked the villages and abducted many civilians within this week. Operations of the Iraqi army to repel the gangs are said to be still ongoing.

Spokesperson of Iraq's Interior Ministry Saad Maan issued a statement Friday evening, saying that other journalists and policemen encircled by ISIS have been rescued.

The village Imam Garbi where two Iraqi journalists have been killed is affiliated to the Salahaddin province and is located 60 kilometres south of Mosul.

Also in the last month two French journalists and their Iraqi aide, who were covering the Mosul Operation, lost their lives due to mine explosions.
