Turkish police confiscate opposition newspaper as 'criminal element'

Turkish police confiscated opposition Kurdish newspaper Yeni Yaşam as a criminal element during home raids in Amed (Diyarbakir).

Political genocide operations are continuing with mass arrests in North Kurdistan and Turkey.

22 women have been detained during an operation targeting the Roza Women's Association in Amed in the morning.

It is reported that documents of membership in the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), legal books and Yeni Yaşam Newspaper were confiscated as criminal elements during the raids on the houses of the detainees.

It is further reported that regular official documents of the association were also confiscated during the police raid on the association.

A restriction order has been imposed on this investigation file which includes a list of 35 people to be detained.
