Turkish invasion of Rojava protested in Basel

Demonstrations continue all around the world in protest at Turkish invasion of Rojava.

The ‘Committee Stop the War against Rojava’ promoted a demonstration in Basel city of Switzerland in protest at the Turkish genocidal campaign seeking to invade North and East Syria together with ISIS/Al-Nusra mercenaries.

The protest march started from the Messeplatz Square with the participation of Kurds and their friends with banners reading “Defend the Women’s Revolution Together” and “Defend Rojava, Smash Turkish Fascism, Shoulder to Shoulder against Fascism”.

Demonstrators also displayed photos of martyrs who fell in the genocidal campaign, including Havrin Khalaf and Mother Aqida, and of internationalist female fighter Sarah Handelmann who fell in a Turkish airstrike against the Medya Defense Zones on April 7.

The march was followed by a rally in front of the Council of Basel.

Demonstrators shared information on the latest situation in Rojava and called on all democratic circles to embrace the resistance of the peoples living in the targeted region.

Speakers also condemned Switzerland and European states for being an accomplice in the Turkish genocide through their arms sales and trade agreements with the Turkish state.
