Turkish attacks continue in Avaşin

Turkish military attacks on the Werxelê area in the Avaşin region continue.

HPG Press Centre has released a statement providing information on the latest developments in the guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq).

The statement published on Monday includes the following:

“In the Werxelê Resistance Area in the Avaşin region:

On September 19, at 19:45, the invading Turkish army bombed the Werxelê Resistance Area with explosives.

On September 19, at 12:30, the invading Turkish army bombed the Çemço area with howitzers and mortars fired from the military outposts on the border line.

On September 19, between 20:00 and 00:20, Turkish helicopters flew over the areas of Girê Spî and Girê Sor, Mervanos and Tabûra Ereba in the Avaşin region.

From 14:00 on September 19 to 08:00 on September 20, the villages of Serarû, Êdinê, Hirore and Deşîşê in Kanî Masî region of Amadiya and the Qela Qûmriyê area in Metîna were bombed with howitzers and mortars fired from the military outposts located on the border line.”
