A Turkish court arrested 15 people for lecturing in Peoples’ Democratic Party’s (HDP) academy between 2011-13.
In Istanbul, 15 out of 44 people who arrested ten days ago, have been arrested on charges of membership in a terrorist group.
The preliminary investigation by Istanbul Prosecutor's Office, which has been ongoing since 2014, deals with the activities of the political academies of the DDP in the years 2011 to 2013. All of the arrested are the lecturers of the academy.
The detainees include the, Veli Büyükşahin Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Alevite tv channel TV10, journalist Cemil Demirbaş, Yavuz Akar, Ali Altın, Binali Palandöken, Cihan Dağdelen, Halis Kandelci, Cemşit Atabay, Erkin Oruç, Basri Aslan, Adnen Kaçmaz, Mehmet Akar, Edip Karçik, Veli Haydar Güleç and Selahattin Yılmaz.
