Co-Chair of the Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Ahmet Turk said the Turkish state should take necessary steps in order to solve the Kurdish problem in the country.
Visiting Van province in order to introduce the projects of DTK Ahmet Turk said: “The Turkish state should respond the calls from the PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan”
After visiting the district of Hakkari Ahmet Turk and the DTK delegation held a press conference at the municipality building in Van. “We are organising our congress which is the only address for the Kurds and the other peoples in the region. From the beginning we are suggesting our Democratic Autonomy which will provide everyone with the opportunity to take part in decision making. We are meeting our people as well as the civil society organisations. We should take an action as a whole. Otherwise we will face the risk of facing the same pains in the past.” said Ahmet Turk.
The state should take steps
After the meeting addressing the crowd in front of the municipality Ahmet Turk spoke Kurdish and said: “We have gathered here for peace. The leader of PKK Abdullah Ocalan gave us a great chance for peace and we call on the Turkish government not to miss this chance. The state should respond this call for peace and take necessary steps accordingly.”
