He called Turkish authorities to release all 103 detained Kurdish politicians said this might be the first step for peace in the region.
Ahmet Turk and several other Kurdish politicians came to Diyarbakir to watch so-called KCK trial.
151 Kurdish politicians and human rights defenders are standing trial in Diyarbakir 6th High Criminal Court today.
President of Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) Selahattin Demirtas also spoke to the reporters in front of the courthouse while waiting the KCK trial to start.
He thanked all people who came to support the Kurdish politicians on trial and called for their release.
The basic request of the rights defenders and activists and most of all of the BDP is to release the defendants pending trial. The joint attorneys criticized that the long duration of detention has turned into a punishment itself. They announced to apply to the European Court of Human rights on behalf of several defendants.
