Sebahat Tuncel, former co-chair of the Democratic Regions Party (DBP), imprisoned in Kandıra Closed Prison, made a call for sensitivity by conveying the rights violations in the prison after the visit she had with her lawyer.
In the visit with her lawyer, Tuncel said that the morning and evening counts have been carried out in a repressive manner since 28 July and that this has continued in a systematic way, and that they were taken to the ward by force without air conditioning as a result of their reaction on 7 August against the officers who tried to create a provocation.
Tuncel said that they were subjected to violence and added that the letter they wrote to the Ministry of Justice was seized and for this they filed a criminal complaint with the Prosecutor's Office.
Tuncel said that, in fact, repression in prison increased as racist attacks outside increased. She called for sensitivity against the violations of rights.
