Having put up a tent last year in Ankara and held up a resistance for eight days, TEKEL workers are again marching to Ankara this year at the anniversary of their protest. Workers will start out from Ýstanbul tomorrow and they will be at Abdi Ýpekçi Park on 18 December.
Having resisted last year in Ankara for 80 days to get their works back and to assure their job securities, TEKEL workers are coming to Ankara again this year. TEKEL workers, who carried out various acts after the big resistance, will move from Ýstanbul, Diyarbakýr and Ýzmir on 17 December Friday and gather in Ankara at Abdi Ýpekçi Park on 18 December. Workers will be supported by the representative participation from Saffier, Çel-Mer workers from Ýstanbul. Following the press statement at Abdi Ýpekçi Park, workers will visit Sakarya shopkeepers who gave support to them during the resistance.
The bus from Ýstanbul will hit the road to Ankara at 23.00 from the front of Levent Tek Gýda-Ýþ Union. At the announcement made for the act, TEKEL workers stated that they are at the 74th day of the second TEKEL resistance, saying; “We did all we could do but the enslavement agreement is still in practice. Although we didn’t achieve our aims at all, we unmasked what happened by and against the working class, those contented with watching and ignoring the process, in-union bargains and the administration of Tek Gýda-Ýþ”.
