TAYAD members detained in Istanbul

Two people from TAYAD families have been detained for protesting against the arbitrary ban at Galatasaray Square.

Feridun Osmanağaoğlu and Yıldız Turan from TAYAD (Association of Solidarity with the Families of Prisoners) were targeted by the police as they protested against the arbitrary ban imposed on demonstrations at Istanbul’s central Galatasaray Square by Beyoğlu District Governorate.

Osmanağaoğlu and Turan were surrounded by dozens of policemen after they chanted “Galatasaray Square cannot be banned for the people”.

67-year-old Osmanağaoğlu and 62-year-old Turan were then taken into custody.
