Pamukkale University police offered 5 students who had been detainedto become informers. Detained students, who didn’t accept the offer "Give us information about the Kurdish students", are being followed by police for a week.

In the past year, nearly 90 students received investigations opened against them on notice of the police at Pamukkale University in Denizli, while nearly 50 students were given one-week temporary debarment. However, not being saturated with penalties, police is now trying to take control of students in different ways.

It was learned that police officers from the Security Directorate of Denizli detained five Kurdish students last week and took them to Police Department. Five detained students explained that they were threatened first, and then offered by civil police to spy.

One of the five students pointed out that police told them their educational costs would be met if they accepted to give information about all Kurdish students at university.

The students explained the followings about the insisting of police on spying; “We have been disturbed by these policemen for a week. After the class, we were taken into custody and taken to security directorate.

One of the policemen stood up and called us in, saying ‘Come, you are our guests'. And one of them turned to us and said “Look, young people. You are still too young to be deceived. As you know, ones stage acts at the university under the cover of on behalf of Kurdish people. Do not believe them. Come, move with us. Besides, don’t trouble your education, we will meet your needs”.

The students says that police wanted them to notify the developments and the acts to be staged at the university. “They said us ‘You will help both yourself and your friends with the notifications you give’. Then, before we left, they asked us to tell them about the problems we have. We didn’t accept their offer, left there and went home”. The student adds that their life safeties are in danger as they have been followed by police for a week since they didn’t answer them.
