Solidarity hunger strike launched in Stockholm

A three-day hunger strike has been launched in Stockholm in solidarity with the political prisoners on hunger strike in Turkish jails.

20 Kurdish citizens have gone on hunger strike in Stockholm, capital city of Sweden Friday morning in solidarity with prisoners on hunger strike in Turkish jails- those in Şakran Prison being on the 59th day now- and in protest at the Turkish state's pressure, attacks and massacres against the Kurdish people.

The hunger strike started at a tent put up at the Sergel Square, 100 meters to the scene of the recent terror attack which claimed the lives of 4 people and left 15 others wounded. The tent is covered with images of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan and hunger strikers.

Demonstrators are holding speeches and handing out leaflets to inform the Swedish public about the poor conditions and human rights in Turkish prisons, and call for solidarity with the prisoners on hunger strike.
