Several organizations in Izmir protest attacks by Turkey against South Kurdistan

Several organizations in Izmir protested the attacks by Turkey against South Kurdistan, sating that they also affect the people of Turkey, and called for solidarity with the Kurdish people.

Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Aegean Regional Representation, Free Women's Movement (TJA) and People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) held a protest in Izmir against the attacks carried out by the Turkish state against South Kurdistan.

KDP betrays Kurdish people

DEM Party Izmir Provincial co-chair Vezan Karabulut read a statement on behalf of the organizations participating in the protest. Karabulut said that the lands occupied by the Turkish state in South Kurdistan are the lands of the Kurdish people and the peoples they live with, and added: "We cannot accept the attitude of the KDP administration, which remains silent and becomes a part of the occupation while people's houses are bombed, villages are burned, destroyed and evacuated, and the territory is occupied."

Karabulut continued: "The KDP has squandered the lands of South Kurdistan for the sake of its petty interests."

Karabulut said: "The people of Kurdistan will remember those who opened their lands to occupation not as patriots, but as local collaborators of colonialism. The KDP betrays Kurds. The people of Turkey have also faced the greatest political, economic and natural plunder in their history. Those who think that these problems will be overcome in Turkey without solving the Kurdish question are making a historical mistake. We know that this war has affected and will continue to affect Turkish society as well. It is the responsibility of all people to put a stop to this war. Society needs to establish a language of peace. This is an onus of all the revolutionaries, socialists, democrats, intellectuals and artists in Turkey. We call on everyone to stand in solidarity with the Kurdish people against this."
