Russian military officials, YPG and SDF spokesmen held a joint press briefing on the recent developments in Syria and ongoing fight against ISIS, YPG Press Office reported.

In the event held with participation of People’s Defense Units (YPG) Spokesman Nuri Mahmud, Deir Ez-Zor Military Council officials and Russian military officials, The struggle against ISIS and the recent developments in Syria were discussed.

The effective role of YPG in the fight against ISIS was mentioned in the statement. Meanwhile it was also stated that the local tribes of the region and Deir Ez-zor Military Council have been giving a critical boost to the success of the struggle led by YPG against ISIS in Syria. It was also expressed that both International Coalition forces and Russia have an active role in the fight against ISIS.

YPG officials stated that their forces have played a key role in the fight against ISIS and they would continue fighting against terrorism until ISIS is driven out of all of the areas it currently holds.

“YPG and YPJ are always ready to fight against all kinds of terrorism with whomever wants to support their struggle.” said YPG spokesman Nuri Mahmud.
