Protest against the isolation in front of European Parliament

As the hunger strike in Strasbourg demanding an end to the aggravated isolation imposed upon Ocalan enters day 31, a protest is held in front of the EP with the slogan, “Break the isolation, tear down fascism, free Ocalan”.

As DTK Co-chair and HDP MP Leyla Guven, PKK-PAJK prisoners and activists in Hewler, Newport (Wales) and Strasbourg (France) continue their indefinite and non-alternate hunger strikes demanding an end to the aggravated isolation imposed upon Ocalan and his freedom, a large scale protest rally is held in front of the European Parliament (EP) in Strasbourg.

Kurds and allies started arriving in Strasbourg in the morning from various cities in Germany, France, Belgium, Switzerland and the Netherlands to gather in front of the EP building. Thousands of Kurds in front of the EP started the rally at 13:00.

Koma Berxwedan members Diyar and Hozan Semdin as well as several other artists are attending the rally.

The crowd frequently chants “Be Serok Jiyan Na Be”, “Freedom for Ocalan”, “Fascist Erdogan”, “Berxwedan Jiyane” and “End the Isolation” as a large number of journalists follow the rally.

Meanwhile, the 14 activists on the indefinite and non-alternate hunger strike in Strasbourg arrived in the rally grounds and gave interviews to European press talking about the hunger strike and the isolation.
