Prisoners’ families attacked and detained by police

The families holding a sit-in in front of the Gebze Type M Closed Prison in solidarity with the prisoners on hunger strikes were attacked by the police and many were detained by the police.

The prisoners’ families launched an alternating sit-in in front of the Gebze Type M Closed Women’s Prison in solidarity with the prisoners on indefinite nonalternating hunger strikes demanding an end to the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan.

The police attacked the families and the families continued the sit-in across from the prison. The police surrounded the families and later detained all protesters. There is no concrete information on how many people were detained.
