Popular resistance against attacks continues at Tishrin Dam

Despite the attacks and massacres by the occupying Turkish state, the people's vigil for the protection of the Tishrin Dam continues with determination.

The Tishrin Dam has been subjected to attacks by the occupying Turkish state and allied mercenaries since December 8, 2024.

Since January 8, the people of North and East Syria have started a vigil to protect the Tishrin Dam, which provides electricity to the region and is vital for civilian life.

The occupation forces attack not only the dam and its surroundings but also the civilians taking part in the vigil. As a result of direct attacks on civilians, more than 20 people have been martyred and hundreds wounded so far.

Despite the increasingly ongoing attacks, the protesters, who have steadfastly maintained the vigil for 22 days, emphasize their determination to protect the dam.

One of the activists said, “We are not afraid of the Turkish occupation and the attacks by allied mercenaries and warplanes. We will continue our action until the attacks stop. We are with our military forces and we are here. We will not abandon the dam.”

The Turkish state continued its attacks on the 22nd day of the resistance. At around 10:40 local time, the Tishrin Dam and its surroundings were once again bombed.
