In Salihli district of Manisa, police forces carried out simultaneous house raids in the morning. Following the searches in the flats, 18 people were taken into custody on the grounds of participation in last year's Newroz celebrations.

The detainees include Cevdet Yıldız, who was the co-mayoral candidate of the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) in the March 31, 2024 local elections.

The detainees  were taken to Salihli District Security Directorate.
