Relatives of prisoners who are on an indefinite hunger strike demanding the end of the isolation imposed on Abdullah Öcalan, were set to make a statement to the press in front of Diyarbakır D Type Closed Prison on Wednesday.

Police forces laid a siege around the prison with armored vehicles and obstructed the mothers from speaking to the press. Mothers therewith launched a sit-in protest while journalists were not allowed access to the scene to report on the demonstration.

The relatives of the prisoners on hunger strike were then surrounded by the police before they were forced into buses and driven away from the area.
